Polycarbonate is known for its eye-catching properties, good light transmittance, and is a popular substitute for glass in modern buildings. In order to keep polycarbonate sheets shining while at the same time protecting the UV coating, we need to follow some basic guidelines for cleaning and caring for them.
Here are the do's and don'ts when washing polycarbonate sheets:
• First wash the polycarbonate and use warm water to wash off common stains that have dried out. Allow to soak for a minute or two to allow the dirt to come off. Wash the debris off before hand washing, otherwise debris may scratch the UV coating
• Avoid using electric washer as water pressure can damage the UV coating. If using an electric washer, use the mist setting.

• Use a mild soap, such as dish soap. Do not use any cleaning product with harsh chemicals, including ammonia, alcohol, and bleach. These strong detergents will affect the coating of the roofing sheet
• If using a cleaning bucket, change the wash water often and do not use dirty or even slightly cloudy water for rinsing. Dirty water will leave residue behind, and it can also make the next cleaning more difficult.
• Use a sponge or soft cloth. Do not use scrub brushes, scouring pads or other rough materials that can cause the surface to peel off and destroy the UV coating.
To keep the maximum effectiveness of the UV-resistant coating, proper cleaning is required
